Bariatric Surgery
The NYU Program for Surgical Weight Loss is a comprehensive program designed to meet the medical, surgical, and emotional needs of the severely obese patient, with outcomes among the best in the country.

Colon and Rectal Surgery
We treat the full spectrum of diseases related to the colon rectum and anus.

Endocrine Surgery
The Division of Endocrine Surgery in the Department of Surgery at NYU was established in 2007 to provide comprehensive care to patients requiring surgery for thyroid cancer, other thyroid conditions, hyperparathyroidism, and other endocrine tumors in cooperation with colleagues in Endocrinology, Pathology, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiology. This team approach will assure that all patients will have available to them the most modern treatments for their disease.

General Surgery
This division specializes in the diagnosis of and surgical treatment for diseases of the esophagus, stomach, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, small and large intestine, colon and rectum. Many of the operations performed in this division employ minimal access (laparoscopic and flexible endoscopic) techniques.

Pediatric Surgery
The pediatrics division provides specialized surgical care for newborns, infants and children, including a special interest in minimal access surgery, prenatal counseling and consultation, tumors, and management of short bowel syndrome.

Surgical Oncology
The cancer-related activities of the department of surgery are part of the Perlmutter Cancer Center.  As the oldest clinical cancer service in continuous existence in the United States, the division excels at turning the latest in clinical, translational and epidemiologic research into cutting-edge multidisciplinary cancer treatment, then delivering it in a personalized and caring environment.

Transplant Surgery
The Mary Lea Johnson Richards Organ Transplant Center offers a full range of organ transplant services for patients with end-stage liver or kidney disease. A dedicated and integrated team addresses medical and surgical needs, as well as psychosocial and financial ones, from the initial consultation through coordinated follow-up care for life.

Acute Care Surgery
The division is responsible for the surgical intensive care units among the various NYU affiliate hospitals, including Surgical Intensive Care Units, Cardiovascular Care Units, Transplant Intensive Care Units, Neurosurgical Intensive Care Units, Neonatal Intensive Care Units, and Emergency Wards.

Vascular Surgery
With one of the largest vascular surgery teams in the country and decades of experience treating thousands of patients with vascular disease, NYU offers expert patient care with an emphasis on minimally invasive therapies.
